Identifying an unknown liquid via infrared spectrum.
Please identifying the unknown liquid represented by infrared spectrum in the attachment.
Also, please attach a IR spectra from the SDBS spectral database for me to compare your answer.
The liquid is soluble in water and has a boiling boing somewhere between 120-125 degrees Celsius.
If the liquid is a alcohol, ketone or an aldehyde the choice are (but not limited to if you have a better answer):
Alcohol
1) 3,3,-Dimethyl-2-butanol
2) 2,3-Dimethyl-2-butanol
3) 2-methyl-2-pentanol
4) 3-methyl-3-pentanol
5) 2-methoxyethanol
6) 2-methyl-3-pentanol
7) 2-Chloroethanol
Ketone
1) 4-methyl-2-pentanone (isobutyl methyl ketone)
2) 2,4-dimethyl-3-pentanone (diisopropyl ketone)
3) 3-Hexanone
4) 2-Hexanone
5) 4-methyl-3-penten-2-one
Aldehyde
1) 2-ethylbutanal
2) Hexanal
