Pyridoxine

“The mechanism of action in which pyridoxine circumvents the human body is by being the precursor to pyridoxal, which functions in the metabolism of proteins, carbohydrates, and fats; pyridoxal also aids in the release of liver and muscle-stored glycogen and in the synthesis of GABA (within the central nervous system) and heme. Pyridoxine is absorbed well from the intestines via enteral or parenteral, and it is oxidized in the body and excreted as pyridoxic acid which is Hepatic. It’s Metabolized in 4-pyridoxic acid (active form), and other metabolites. Also, renal Excretion accounts for extensive and plasma half life is 15 – 20 days.”
