Recognizing the Order of a Reaction
October 11th, 2022
In the reaction 2 A + 2 B —-> C + 3 D the rate of disappearance of A is -2.2 X 10^-4 M s -1. What is the rate of formation of C?
The answer states A = to 1.1 x 10^-4 M/s.
What happened to the “-1” in this situation? Can these measures for rates, Ms^-1 and s-1, be used to help identify first second and third order?
When looking at these types of problems, what is the quickest way to recognize the order?
